Commemoration of the Living & the Departed

Proskomedia

As is customary in the Orthodox tradition, the proskomedia is served to commemorate the names of our loved ones; for the health of the living and the souls of the departed. With this option, your commemoration book will be kept in the altar and read at every Divine Liturgy for one year, meaning that your loved ones will be prayed for at the Holy Chalice at least 120 times per year, as well as at the five Soul Saturdays.

Sorokoust

A Sorokoust – which is a daily prayer said for loved ones 40 days in a row – can be ordered for the recently departed, before traveling, to aid in finding a job and similar occasions.

Golden Book

For a $1,000 donation you may add a single name to the Golden Book, in honor of the living or in memory of the departed, to be commemorated at every Liturgy.
